It is with great sadness that we must inform you of the death of our much loved member Jim Drayne.

Jim died early today after a short illness.

Jim was always friendly, and very straightforwardly warm and welcoming and there are many members who will be deeply saddened to lose such a friend. We extend our deep and heartfelt sympathies to his many friends within the Club, but most of all to his wife and children, and his wider family circle on this sad day.

If anyone would like information about the arrangements for his funeral or flowers etc, we ask you to please refer to the newspaper notices.

Jim has given the Club long years of service as Trustee, frequent member of the Committee and several times Chair of the Committee, most recently 2014 – 2015, not to mention all the times he has represented our Club in League matches, and shared his good humour and sense of fun at Monday night Club Play.

As a mark of respect for this service, all Club activities have been suspended until after his funeral.

These include: Junior match practice Thursday 5-6pm, Club Play Thursday night 7-9pm, Ladies’ Evergreen practice night on Friday evening 7pm. There is no Junior Club Play on Saturday morning. It is rescheduled to Saturday 4th April.

Registration Day at the Clubhouse has moved from 9-11am Saturday 28th March to 7-9pm that evening to accommodate members who wish to attend the funeral.

Alternatively, members can return forms with fee by post to Rachel Corrigan, 16 Tullybrannigan Road, Newcastle, BT33 0DX.
