Please find below all the necessary information for entering our Annual Junior Tournament which runs from Monday 20th to Saturday 25th August.
Registration for the tournament opens ONLINE Friday 10th August at 1pm, and closes next Friday 17th August at 7pm. Online registration is for U12s, U14s, and U18s only. (Anyone entering these events must be willing to be available on Finals’ Day, Saturday 25th August). Click on this link to register:

All other categories (U8s, U9s, U10s and Beginners, and anyone 6yrs and under who would like to join in the fun) should register by emailing Coach Sam Clegg at email@example.com.
Saturday 25th August
Beginners/6yrs and under/U8s/U9s/U10s all pay a flat fee of £5. Light refreshments will be provided.
£2 administration fee per player.
£3 for each Singles event.
£4 (per pair) for each Doubles event.
All payments must be made on day of first match played.
Starts: Mon 20th August 2018.
Sat 25th: Beginners/U6s/U8s/U9s/U10s events 9am-12pm
Ends: Saturday 25th August. Finals’ Day and Annual Club BBQ in the afternoon.
U8s, U9s and U10s who are able to sustain a rally of 5-10 shots may enter their age appropriate events on Saturday 25th August at the following times:

These categories will all be round robin events to ensure entrants get plenty of matches.
Also on Saturday morning from 9-10.30am, there will be a fun games competition for Beginners and anyone 6yrs and under who is not yet ready for matches but who would still like to join in.

SATRUDAY 25th AUGUST – ANNUAL CLUB BBQ & FINALS’ DAY
This year we have decided to hold the Annual Club BBQ and Finals’ Day on Saturday rather than Friday evening as we have done in the past. This is to allow more members to attend. The BBQ will be held during the day rather than in the evening, allowing any younger children who have participated in the morning events to stay on and attend with their families.
All members are welcome at the Club BBQ, even if they are not involved in the tournament. This is a Club social event, and as such it is a great opportunity for new members to meet and get to know other Club members. So even if you’ve never been before, or if you’re feeling shy about it, just come anyway. The food is good, the craic is great, and you’re very likely to meet someone you already know anyway!!
Anyone who can offer some time to help co-ordinate and run the BBQ, please let the Committee know by email to this address as soon as possible. We also need people who are willing to umpire matches in the latter stages of the event, please let us know if you are willing to help in this way. Thank you.
COURT USAGE DURING TOURNAMENT
Check the Calendar and court booking system for court usage from Monday 20th August through to Saturday 25th August. 3 courts will be in use from 12-6pm daily Monday 20th to Friday 24th August. 4 courts will be in use from 9-11am on Saturday 25th, and 3 courts in use from 11am-6pm on Saturday, with the 4th court available for Council hire. The Tournament matches will be held during the day, leaving the evenings free for Seniors, and Club Plays will not be disturbed by anything other than Senior Summer League matches, on Tuesday 21st and on Wednesday 22nd.
The Tournament is expected to be very busy, so please check the court booking system at newcastletennisclub.com before coming to the courts, and book a court to avoid disappointment. (If anyone would like to register for the court booking system, please contact Rachel by text on 07591 762061).
